Melissa Cole, MS, IBCLC, is a board-certified lactation consultant, neonatal oral-motor assessment professional and clinical herbalist in private practice. Melissa is passionate about providing comprehensive, holistic lactation support and improving the level of clinical lactation skills for health professional. She enjoys researching and writing, especially on topics such tongue tie and botanical medicine. Her bachelor’s degree is in maternal/child health and lactation and her master’s degree is in therapeutic herbalism. Before pursuing her current path, Melissa’s background was in education and cultural arts, which has served her well in her work as a lactation consultant and healthcare educator. She loves living, working and playing in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her 3 children.
Come and join us for a full day of learning and discussion with Melissa Cole, MS, IBCLC. We will cover a variety of clinical topics with an emphasis on critically thinking ‘outside the box’. We will explore clinical lactation tools and when they are a help or a hinderance. We will discuss how latch issues can sometimes be digestive issues in disguise. We will explore how to assess infant oral anatomy and support families coping with post frenectomy care challenges. This day of learning is appropriate for any care provider working with infants and families coping with feeding challenges. Cancellation Policy
Credit for future seminars is available under special circumstances until one week prior to event. In the case of extenuating curcumstances should a refund be required, a 3% fee will be deducted.

Payment must be made during the time of online registration using a credit or debit card. If you need to make alternate payment arrangements such as a company check to be mailed to BreastfeedLA, you MUST select the ticket option of “General Registration by Check.” No Early Bird registration rates will apply to payments by check. This policy is in effect as of Aug 1, 2017.
Continuing Education Credits (offered at no additional charge)
RN: BreastfeedLA is an approved provider by the California Board of Registered Nursing. This course offers 7 contact hours of continuing education. BreastfeedLA’s provider number is CEP 16435. Licensee must maintain certificate for a period of four years.
IBCLC: BreastfeedLA is an approved Long-Term Provider by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners #CLT113-36. 6 L-CERPs will be awarded.
