Milan has worked for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health for 13 years and is currently a Senior Health Educator specifically working as Los Angeles County’s Health Education Consultant for the Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP). She has extensive passion and expertise in breastfeeding as a Certified Lactation Educator Counselor (CLEC) and Certified Birth Doula and having sustained a personal breastfeeding journey of over two years. She conducts breastfeeding education training and guidance to CPSP clinics across Los Angeles County. Milan is committed to working actively to provide all families in Los Angeles the breastfeeding advocacy, equity and support they need; especially those most vulnerable to socio-economic disparities that exist. She currently works actively as co-lead of the Family-Centered Models of Care workgroup under the African-American Infant & Maternal Mortality (AAIMM) initiative in Los Angeles County. She considers herself a Blacktavist (Black Lactation Activist) and is proud to further the work and vision of the organization.
