Join BreastfeedLA for “Enhancing Lactation Support for Latino/x Dyads: Effective Strategies for Increased Duration and Exclusivity” with Brenda Vieyra, IBCLC. Latinos are among the many minority groups that face unique barriers to successful breast/chestfeeding duration. Although initiation rates are high among Latino/x parents, research has shown that simply knowing the benefits of breast/chestfeeding is not enough to support longevity and exclusivity in breast/chestfeeding. There are many levels in which Latino/x dyads are not receiving the support they need. We will review solutions that have shown to be effective in increasing breast/chestfeeding duration among Latina/x mothers and discuss ways that these solutions can be implemented.
